A sandbox should give you freedom if you want quests or not and/or if you want a banner or not. So far the campaign forces you to have a brother, to have a banner and to have quests that you didn't even had a choice to accept or not. This is SURELY NOT a sandbox. Steelwin66 • 3 yr. ago.
Bannerkings is so nice, esp playing Vlandia cause it actually feels like a feudalistic society and you have to work your way up from peasant to lord to duke to even get castles. There is a campaign mode. Sandbox mode is the standard Mount and Blade mode. It was one of the most satisfying aspects of the game. Choosing your character, the backstory, and all that jazz, and

You don't have to do any of the story quests in campaign if you don't want to, nothing else changes. You guys should stop lying and saying sandbox is good for anything, it's a joke, it's seriously like 2 screens different from campaign and all that changes is you can't rescue your family. Agree to 200%! I started a sandbox but its realy crap.
I recommend campaign / story mode, it's well done and eases you into the transition, and you can continue as a sandbox game after you complete the storyline. Plus the best armor in the game is only available thru storyline. Just save before story battle events, it's possible to permanently die in them. 13. ethernown.
