Mums have a long growing season. Growing chrysanthemums from seeds requires planning in areas with short growing seasons. Start the seeds indoors six to eight weeks prior to the last frost date. Transfer to the garden when the chrysanthemum seedlings are 6 to 8 inches tall. Expect to see blooms the first year after planting.
Generally, mums can last between 7 to 10 days when placed in a vase with water. But with proper care, they can last even longer. To extend the life of mums in a vase of water, it is important to use the right kind of water. Tap water contains chlorine and other chemicals that can shorten the life of flowers.
Like most plants, mums do best in rich, well-drained soil. If your soil is dense, add compost and work it in at least eight inches. Mums need plenty of water, too. New plantings must never be allowed to wilt and established plants should be watered weekly. Water more often if needed but avoid soaking the plants, as this encourages disease.
Divide the strength of your solution by 4. If you have 35% HCl, divide that by 4% and you have 8.75 parts. 1 part has to be the 35% HCl and 7.75 parts is distilled water. So if you have 100 ml of 35% HCl (1 part), then you will need 7.75 parts x 100 ml = 775 ml of distilled water.
The exception is African marigolds, best bought as young plants or started indoors about 4 to 6 weeks before your last frost date. Marigolds sprout within a week in warm weather and plants typically produce blooms in about 8 weeks.
Feb 11, 2013. #1. Any time I try to send or receive an MMS message It says "Message Expired or Not Available." I really don't send or receive that many MMS messages, so I can't say exactly how long this has been broken, honestly the last time I remember sending an MMS was in Dec. and it worked fine. I haven't changed anything with the phone
