Due to budget constraints we're looking at package deals and are currently comparing the Iberotel Aquamarine hotel in Hurghada with the Iberotel Lamaya hotel in Marsa Alam. I’ve read the reviews on both hotels on the forum and both seem equally positive, although I’m wondering if Marsa Alam limits our options for facilities/activities

El Quseir, mid-way between Marsa Alam and Hurghada is one of my favored areas, diving here is from shore, this is where I have encountered the largest turtles, wrasses and groupers. On most days you will be the only ones at the dive site. El Makluf and Serib Kebir are recommended. Everybody raves about the house reef at the Mövenpick .
